Alexis Lynn
Head Coach
Lynn enters her third season as the Southwestern head softball coach with experience in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), having helmed the Schreiner University program since Aug. 2019. The Mountaineers posted a 17-7 conference record over Lynn's tenure.
Before Schreiner, Lynn was an assistant softball coach at Marian University in Wisconsin from 2016-2019. Lynn was part of a coaching staff that led Marian to its best three-year stretch in program history, advancing to the team's first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) championship game since 2008 in 2017. A year later, they were the NACC regular-season champions.
Lynn is from Round Rock, Texas, and played four years for the Concordia University Tornados softball team from 2011-2014, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 2014. In addition, she served two years as the graduate assistant at Concordia, earning her Master of Education degree in 2016.
Southwestern went 14-26 overall last season, with an 9-12 conference record. The softball season opens on Feb. 5 with a doubleheader against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Chelsea Rex-Singleton
Assistant Coach
Chelsea Rex-Singleton was named Assistant Softball Coach for the Pirates in July 2023.
While completing her Master of Arts in Higher Education, Chelsea Rex-Singleton joined the University of Redlands softball staff as a graduate assistant in 2016. She was named Assitant Coach in 2019.
Rex-Singleton was born and raised in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology and another bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. While at St. Francis, Rex-Singleton split her time between the pitcher's mound and third base for the NCAA Division I Red Flash softball team. Offensively, Rex-Singleton hit .227 with 40 RBIs and seven home runs. As a starting pitcher, she recorded a career ERA of 4.13. In 2013, her efforts in the classroom and on the field culminated in being named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete.
